My career began as a student in photography at Rochester Institute of Technology. Soon after graduation I became a staff photographer at the White House, working for Yoichi Okamoto during the Johnson Administration. For two and one half years I was Director of Photography for Information Services at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. Then came a move to my alma mater as Professor of Photojournalism for the next 15 years. In 1985, I was selected for a faculty exchange program between RIT and Shanghai University of Technology teaching photography in China for 10 weeks. That spurred me to leave RIT and begin freelancing in Washington, DC for the next 25 years. Now architecture has replaced the “movers and shakers” as subjects for my photography.
